Food Truck Saturday @The City Kitch Sponsored By Wild Wing Cafe
Aren’t restaurants supposed to dislike food trucks? Similarly dogs hate cats, Republicans don’t like Democrats and kids turn their noses up at vegetables, right? Food trucks have become very popular in large metropolitan areas and Charlotte is no different. With Food Truck Rallies beginning earlier every season don’t restaurants suffer from their mobile competition?
The answer is “NO” they don’t. In fact, The City Kitch’s neighbor at Pinnacle Point, Wild Wing Cafe in Charlotte’s University District on Mallard Creek Church Road embraces them! So much so, in fact that they are helping sponsor Food Truck Saturday @The City Kitch. We believe that great neighbors make for great community and we couldn’t agree more than when it comes to the owners and management staff of Wild Wing Cafe. Sure, we eat there sometimes (often). It’s convenient, good food and we like the people. What we like even more is their willingness to recognize a great opportunity to connect with local residents, provide them a fun, family atmosphere, entertain them and feed them great food and beverages.
So, that’s exactly what we’ll be doing as The City Kitch and Wild Wing Cafe bring Charlotte’s favorite MoFUs (Mobile Food Units for you uninitiated folks) to the University District for the very first time. Food Truck Saturday @The City Kitch will kick off early this Spring (March 18th) with a rotating line-up of your favorite street food vendors, live music, beer and wine (for adults 21+). This is a family friendly event so bring the kids too! We’ll have face painting, caricature artists and more!
There is no entrance fee for the public. Bring your chairs, grab some grub and a beverage and enjoy the live entertainment and sense of community. We’ll be rockin’ from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on the first and third Saturday every month all Spring and Summer long (at least). After 8 we’ll move the party inside at Wild Wing Cafe’s University location.
Our Food Truck participants are nearly all locked in and we’ll be announcing the round-up very soon. Check our Face Book, Instagram and Twitter pages for more information. Or, just keep an eye on our website. You won’t want to miss Charlotte’s best food truck rally!
If it rains we might cancel the Rally, so be sure to check our Face Book page or this site for updates (but Wild Wing Cafe has a roof so come on down anyway!).
